They are direct competitors, so I imagine they keep thier pay in line with each other too. Between these two companies, I would be more concerned about where I could go and how fast I could get there, because neither is going to start you out at a substantial amount, but they take care of managers in all levels. Go in the stores and take notice of thier employees. Do they seem motivated? Are they trying to help people? As a whole, are they polite. There are two primary things that will motivate people to behave that way - Money and advancement. Of course some folks just have good work ethic and a good work environment helps. Maybe even ask questions of managers in both stores. That's the nice thing about looking for a job like that. You get to go in and preview somebody else doing it first. Good look.

well if you are legal worker, then Home Depot.... if not be prepared to stand out in the rain waiting for a job.
