Knitting lace patterns left handed?

When reading charted stitch patterns, are lefties supposed to work from left to right instead of the usual r to l?

I'm a lefty, but I knit right handed... But I would guess if it's a chart it shouldn't make a difference. I've never had a problem with crochet charts (I crochet left handed.) I would say read it in the direction you are knitting.

im a knitter myself but im right handed so I think that you would read the chart as usual.
