didnt the rac guy tell you? sounds like some kinda power lead to the fuel chamber, could be a high volt to or from a booster(coil).if it run ok with the rac guy its a main lead, if it spluttered a bit, could be a single lead. is it the hdi, or tdi. need to know what engine. check to see if the accident cut out swich is activated, although the rac should know about this, cuts the engine in an accident. then check the cables for continuity, simple things first.

Does the preheat light show on the dashboard when you first turn the key. If os it may be that the fuel solenoid is not receiving power to allow the fuel to the engine. this is fitted to enable the car to stop with just the key, older diesel engines needed a decompress lever. Best to buy yourself a Haynes manual for the Peugeot diesel engine.

from your discription he manually accitaveted the heater plugs if you sit in the vehicle and turn the ignition on does the orange indicator light with a coil on the console light up and go out after about 30 seconds if so can you hear a click from under the bonnet shortly after this if you cant them the relay box is faulty and requires attention (the vehicle wont start without the heater plugs)

basically cos the relay clicks does not propose its working....With the ignition switched on verify for a stay on the di pump shrink off solenoid.. additionally verify for a stay on the heater plugs while the ignition is switched on,it would flow stay for approx 5 seconds.... you may pass each little thing with a wie from the helpful of the bat to the shrink off solenoid then a leap lead type the helpful to the heater plugs, although that is going to spark, shop it related for 5 seconds then get rid of it and swap over the vehicle.

sounds like you need a (pre heat box)
it heats the glowplugs before you start
check the wires going to it they might be pumped
its a grey or black box and if you look at the glowplugs there is a wiore connecting them together
follow it to the pre heat box
three nuts hold it together
