I am not responsible for what happens if you take my advice but....

The same thing happened to my boyfriends ipod, I looked on apple.com at user forums and was advised to drop the ipod, flat onto a hard surface from about 4 inches height. Sounds mad but I decided to try it, and after a few goes, it whirred back into life!

Apparently is something to do with the hard drive getting jammed, and indeed you can hear it kickstart and begin humming again.

BUT it may not be the same prob with you, so I would advise checking out the support pages at apple and trying all their advice out before you try the dropping trick. Good luck!

Reset it by toggling the hold switch and pressing down on the menu and center button- untill an apple sign appears- charge it on the computer see if it reads it or try a different plug.

IF NOT
call Apple
at
1-800- MY- Apple

They should know the answer since they make the product

is the ipod on hold? flip the switch, or hold down the play and center button to reset it.
