No. Cleopatra had an affair with Marc Anthony... not Mark Twain!
They were both in a totally different time era: Cleopatra lived from 69BC-30BC, whereas Mark Twain lived from 1839-1910.

I guess you are talking about Mark Antony.
Marcus Antonius (Latin: M·ANTONIVS·M·F·M·N[1]) (c. January 14 83 BC – August 1, 30 BC), known in English as Mark Antony, was a Roman politician and general. He was an important supporter of Gaius Julius Caesar as a military commander and administrator.
Antony joined forces with Caesar's adopted heir Octavian to purge Rome of their common enemies. They formed the so-called Second Triumvirate with general Marcus Lepidus and divided the empire, with Antony being given control of Egypt. There he met and became the lover of the Egyptian queen Cleopatra.

Mark Twain considered Cleopatra a real MILF. A "Mummy I'd Like to..."
Of course I'm kidding. No connection between Cleopatra and Mark Twain.

No, with Mark Antony. Cleopatra was way before Mark Twain's time! She was married to Julius Caesar and they had a son, but he was assassinated on the Ides of March. So, she took up with Antony to try and defeat Octavian (Caesar's heir since his own son was just a boy), but in the end they loose to Octavian. Antony stabs and kills himself while Cleopatra commits suicide by placing her hand into a basket containing poisonous snakes and letting them bite her.
~ I just watched the old Cleopatra movie starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, so I jumped at the chance to answer your question!

I don't think Mark Twain was a necrophilliac, which he'd have to be to go out with Cleopatra.
She went out with Mark Antony. And she didn't marry Julius or Mark, she married her brothers as the idea was that they were god-monarchs (an idea stolen from the Pharohs, though Cleo was a greek) so it would be only acceptable to marry another god - both her little brothers, Ptolemy and Ptolemy.
Her sibings were, in order of age:
- Cleopatra Tryphaena
- Bernice
- Cleopatra Thea (the famous one)
- Arisnoe (fed to crocodiles by Cleopatra)
- Ptolemy
- Ptolemy

Mark Twain was an American author of the 19th and 20th Centuries.
I suspect you're thinking of Mark Antony. There is evidence that Mark Antony and Cleopatra were involved in a close relationship.
