The answer is very simple. And it makes total sense.

Iraq has been ruled for decades by one man from one party, a dictator whose word was law.
(Opposition was killed off.)

When he was deposed, the new Iraqi government ruled that no one from his ruling party could participate in government (for obvious reasons). Those people, of course, were the only ones experienced in running the country. (It appears now that this law will be changed.)

It is in the best interests of the United States (and the rest of the Western world) to support and teach the newly elected democratic government. In the event it fails, ethnic cleansing will most probably result (human misery on the scale of the Cambodian killing fields.) Moreover ~ our natinal security will be further threatened if Iraq fails to self-govern. Iran will move in to dominate the region, and Iraq will became a puppet state of Iranian interests, another terrorists state.

Where did you get your training with finances, your rights, the rights of others. All the Iraqis have had for at least a lifetime is the rule of one dictator. Telling the schools what to teach, telling people to kill other religions, killing each other. Yes in affect they were born yesterday!

This is a country starting from scratch. Over thirty years of rule by a murdering dictator and then changing overnight to a democracy isn't like training your dog to sit. This is a long process.

we at the instant are not to any extent further "regulating Iraqi coverage" than we are in the different usa the place we've bases. final I regarded Germany, Japan, South Korea all have their very own governments and make their very own coverage.

We're not leaving until there's a stable democracy there so they won't go North Korea on us and try and blow us all to smithereens... of course that could take an entire generation. Currently, however they barely have the smallest shred of democracy.
