Perhaps a bit...but not much. The only other solution the Democrats have is to "pull out". That may help them win the 2008 election, but it could have dire consequenses that cost them the elections in 2010 and 2012. (A full unconditional pull-out would result in Sunni deaths increasing 10-fold as they would have little protection against the radical Shia majority)

The biggest thing that the Dems have going for them is Bush bashing (a very easy thing to do) and by association, Republican bashing.

It will be a huge factor of the 2008 election, since many people believe that President Bush has erred in commiting us to Iraq, and that we should withdraw. THese people will be more likely to vote for a democratic candidate than a republican one.

who really cares we are going to get someone who follows news polls to get re-elected in 2012. Pretty much who ever we vote for we are going to get the same thing what we ask for. We asked to go to war we got it. Then we changed our minds so everyone blamed the president.

Sure congress voted to send us there and they were just doing what the people of there districts said they should at the time, but Americans have a short memory and like to blame others for there mistakes. So they all blame bush even though all he did was not veto the bill.

I'm sure it will and if the republicans are crafty enough they'll convince Bush to pull our troops out before the election so he can take credit and therefore giving them a shot at it.

ABSOLUTELY!! We voted against the war in the last election for the house and senate. Maybe we'll elect someone who will listen to us...

Yes, I am sure it will, that is why many repuglican congress people are backing away from the Bush plan. They will need to be reelected in 08 and if they run on stay the course they will lose big time.

Probably, depending on what happens in the next year. Since already Hillary's campaign is, "The war sucks, vote for me even though I offer no real solutions"
