At the State of the Union Address, Bush refered to several terrorist plots that had been foiled. Who are these people that were caught? Why haven't they been put on trial? Where are the details of these plots? Did they really happen or are they all like the "dirty bomb" accusation against Padilla that they couldn't muster an indictment for?

Yes, Padilla was indicted but not for the "dirty bomb" plot.

The shoe bomber dude was if I recall correctly. It does seem as though Bush is embellishing actual facts. Could it be that the plots that have been stopped originated in other countries and therefore any arrests made and trials ect would be taking place over there out of our limelight?

Because these incidents are only about giving FOX NEWS a scary blurb and continuing the exploitation of 9-11 at the expense of our constitution and our troops.
The one in Miami was bogus.
Padilla is still being harassed because the so-called conservatives want to expand the powers of the Executive branch so that any one (U.S. citizen or not) can be declared an enemy combatant and spirited off without a trial. They want the ability to interrogate people like Evey Hammond was interrogated in V for Vendetta!
They need to justify a "War on Terror" that could have been prevented if they'd have gotten up off their *** in Summer 2001 and made it a priority then.
It's not about actually protecting us from terrorists.
It's about exploiting 9-11 for as much as they can before January 2009!

Some have Been convicted. Richard reid, and the LA millenium bomber for example. Most have been more recent and have not gone to trial. Others are international cases and foreign courts have brought the charges. Britain has stopped numerous plots including the airline plots last year. Canada has also foiled many plots in recent times.

you desire the two. The intelligence/regulation enforcement treats the indications and flair ups. the defense force is the therapy for the ailment. Neither can prevail on my own. shop in mind that assorted that intelligence develop into the consequences of defense force action like prisoners, captured computers and archives etc.

The investigations are still going on. Remember, reality isn't a 30 minute TV episode.
