Talk to your doctor, tell him your fears. You have to do it!

I was diagnosed with HPV when I was 5 months pregnant. The scare of my life.

I found out during the regular tests that they have to run.

Find out if you have H.P.V.

If you do, you will have to take medication while in labour so your child could be safe. You could have warts inside and not even know. This when the child passes through could effect their eyes and there is a very small risk that the baby can develop laryngeal papillomas (vocal cord warts), I was on an I.V. for 20hrs while in labour and I was induced as a precaution. (easier for them to monitor the labour)

DO IT AND TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR. NOT ONLY DO IT FOR YOURSELF, BUT FOR YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY.

p.s. if you do have H.P.V. ask what kind, and about the risks of cervical cancer.

"The procedure where they scrape you" not sure what you mean, but I had a "LEEP" procedure due to HPV where the doc used a laser to remove some bad looking cells (pre-cancerous) off my cervix. Your doc might want to get rid of some funky looking cells. I really doubt that (s)he would suggest this if there was any danger to your baby- doctors are afraid of getting sued. But the issue that you should ask about, and get informed about, is an "incompetent cervix"- it was a concern for me in early pregnancy due to the procedure. Your cervix will be weaker and there is a higher risk of miscarriage. Ask your doc about that. You will be fine if (s)he just wants to scrape the surface. I had approx. the bottom 1/3 of my cervix cut with the laser and I am expecting a big baby boy any minute! Good luck!

Hmmm I can't really advise you because I do not understand the risks involved.

I mean I know HPV can cause cervical cancer. I also know that sometimes they remove cancerous cells from the cervix. However, I don't know what they found on your PAP or how dangerous it is. However please read this article: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=27364

I believe this can be used to monitor the development of cancer and see how fast it is developing which may give you a better idea of how long you can go without treating it.

I would also strongly recommend you get another few opinions. Hopefully one from an OB, a family doc, and a midwife.

Ultimately it is YOUR decision though and you must decide what risks you are willing to take. The risk of cancer vs the risk of problems with the baby. Educate yourself and you will make the best decision for you.

Take care.

I even have intense possibility HPV besides. My scientific expert advised me that that the HPV that motives cervical maximum cancers isn't the HPV that motives genital warts. they are 2 categories and one has no longer something to do with the different. i'm 14 weeks preggo and develop into apprehensive too yet he reassured me there develop into no harm to the toddler. Congrats and don't concern!!!!

do what your doc suggests. I know HPV is like a STD and if you have warts with it you will need to have a C section as your baby will be harmed if you give birth through the vagina
Do what your doc says
