Did he mean all other African Americans are dirty? Or was he referring to Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? Does Biden suffer from John Kerry foot in the Mouth Disease?

Wow, that just may be the shortest presidential candidacy in history.

Biden's comments were twofold. First he said that Obama was the first Black mainstream candidate - that was in his opinion. Second he gave Obama compliments that could apply to a candidate of any race or nationality. Biden never talks from prepared scripts - give him a break !! He tries to talk too much but he of all people is not a racist!

More than likely foot in the mouth disease. I think he meant to say that his background was clean but the ole slip of the tongue.............he's human just like John Kerry and 98% of the rest of the population is.

Simply put, Biden knows he is surrounded by political sleaze in his own party. He believes that Obama hasn't been around long enough to get dirty.

I don't believe that Biden meant anything derogatory or racist, regarding Barack Obama.

You mentioned Jackson and Sharpton, is there reason to believe these two are dirty? It never occurred to me, but since you mentioned it.........................hmmmm?

He might have meant that Barack Obama isn't 'tainted' by association with persons or groups of questionable ethical status. He might also have meant it as shorthand for 'clean-cut' - i.e. looking neat and trim, thus giving an impression of education and integrity.

Given Biden's history of less than fully prepared speaking, I'd be inclined to think it was a simple error in phrasing with no offense intended.

He did say "clean" it was clear. So, I then have to think that some other candidates are dirty. (Jessie Jackson??)

Do you think that if Rush Limbaugh had said that he would have been put in jail by the press????????? Or do you think this Democrat will be given the typical PASS.

It always surprises me when people that are obviously smart, like Kerry and Biden, say such stupid things. The next thing you know they'll think their the "decider"

It was a Freudian slip of the tounge. You have just heard the true feelings of a liberal Democrat. Did you also hear Biden say that he was the "first mainstream articulate black American". Wow, so he is black, clean, and can talk too!

That's not what he said. He referred to Obama as a main stream African American who is well spoken and clean cut (I'm paraphrasing a bit). The clean cut aspect can apply to any candidate.

Was he lying about it?

This reminds me of the superbowl. We should be saying that 2 great coaches are in the superbowl instead of saying, "two black coaches are in the superbowl"

But, I have no reason to believe that Obama and his inexperience make him a great choice --- other than hillary is worse.
