If political affiliation can be described as a two lane, one-way road, I'm hugging the center line but still in the right lane. Most folks can say the same with the only difference being which side of the center they like.
I can't relate all my reasons for being 'conservative' in this forum, but here's the big ones:

1. I think tax cuts are good for the economy. Don't ask me to go into detail. It would take a week. Suffice it to say that more money in consumer pockets means more money in the economy which means more tax revenue for the gov't. That's extremely simplified, but there it is.

2. I think we should have a strong, well funded military with cutting edge technology. Not simply an updated (cheaper) version of the same old things we already have.

3. I believe in personal responsibility. If I do something stupid or illegal (or both), its my fault, not society's.

4. I'm pro-choice with reservations. I think there is a time and place for an abortion, but I don't think it should be used to clean up a poor decision (ie. used as birth control).

5. I think poverty and homelessness is a big problem with no easy solutions. Repubs want churches and private charitable organizations to bear the brunt of the work. Dems want the federal government to handle it. I think a compromise is in order. Perhaps churches and private organizations with government assistance (maybe a subsidy of some kind or something) might work. Simply letting private organizations handle it causes problems because they begin trying to make a profit. Having the government in charge simply creates a huge, inefficient bureaucracy that will inevitably lead to abuse of the funding. (ie, welfare)

6. I'm a Christian.

Those are the biggies, but that pretty much defines where I stand politically.

Yes, well this just demonstrates that most people end up being a contradiction in terms. Can you call that a paradox? Only if the opposite is true obviously. As to whether liberal conservatism can be embraced by those conservatives who are more liberal than actually conservative, I think, is something that should be debated liberally in a conservatory manner.

I am an Independant, I think people should help each other, so i guess I am a liberal, but I want to seal the borders and kick out all the illegals so I guess I am some place inbetween.

Im a conservative. I dont support the moral decline of our country. Roe v. Wade needs to be overturned. A constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage should be enacted and we must protect the Christian foundations of our country (including public placement of the Ten Commandments and the rights of students to discuss there beliefs in school)

Neither and I am not affiliated with any party. There hasn't been anyone worth a *%@* to get my vote in a very long time.

I'm fairly conservative, but I have some liberal views. I vote Libertarian. Pro-Life, smaller government, flat tax (& no more income taxes), support the death penalty, for legalized pot, against redistribution of wealth, didn't vote for Bush (or Kerry).

EDIT - and I think gay people are just people...they should be able to do what everyone else can do.

I would have to consider myself a Conservative since you only give 2 choices.

If I could make my own choice I would consider myself somewhere between moderate and conservative.

Depending on the issue I could be all 3

Neither! I'd prefer to be labeled as an American Patriot... so should everyone who believes and is fighting for America. Name calling people are not to be trusted as those who sincerely love America and have any intention to unite Americans for Americans. They spit our corny and horny labels with every intention to destroy Americans coming together. If anything, they must be the footstools of some of America's sly foreign enemy/enemies!

I am actually an inbetween.

I go a bit "liberal" because I believe strongly in a lack of censorship, freedom of choice, I am unreligious, not nationalistic, gun nuts are scary, etc.
