I went to ST. Louis from Puerto Rico on Sept. 30 and it was hotter in St. Louis when I got there. Then the winter was much colder in St. Louis than in Conn. where my son lives. What is going on?
I am not complaining since I wanted to pass some time in colder weather and to enjoy the snow but this climate thing is crazy. Do you think it is just global warning or is the climate going totally out of whack? If it snows in Puerto Rico, I will be really worried.

You will have to forgive me for being sceptical about el Niño. I usually live in Puerto Rico and they say that if we have hurricanes or if we don't it is el Niño or his sister, la Niña.

If it were GLOBAL warming, then both St. Louis and Hartford would be warmer than normal.

It is not that unusual for the weather to be that way. It happened at least four times before since the 1800's. The weather is now colder in Hartford than in St. Louis. Finally Mother Nature has begun to normalize herself. The global warming issue could be one cause, but more studies need to be made to draw any conclusions. One thing is certain though, the polar ice caps are melting which is causing some islands in the Pacific Ocean to become smaller. Also, El Nino (the warming of the Pacific Ocean) was above normal from early fall to mid January. What does this mean for summer in Hartford? I believe that spring will arrive later than normal and the summer will be hotter than normal.
