I don't see a reason why any calendar should be on a different year than any other calandar. With a world connected by the internet it's downright backwards. The world needs a new calendar which connects everything.

I will name this new calandar the Sparkloomian Calendar. Today is 01-01-01 and at this exact moment, the Sparkloomian time is now 00:01.01

Are you going to screw around with time too... and have everyone on the same time. Who decides who gets 2PM in the middle of the night....That is why we have time zones

Why should i let you name the calendar that I should use?. (see the problem).

Universal modes of measurements has its place. In science and technology it already exist. but to widely accept one system over the other by everybody in the world will not be easy.

Um, the world already *has* a calendar that everyone uses. We don't need another one.

For sentimental and traditional reasons, some countries still keep track of their ancient calendars (the Jewish calendar, Chinese, etc.) -- but none of these are used for official political, business, or international work.
Thanks, but no thanks -- we don't need your calendar :)
