Assuming you're serious, all of them.

An artist's first album (professionally recorded and mastered, that is) is almost always the best because the fire is burning brightly in their bellies.... they're still "making their miusic as a stateent" and are fresh and original. After the first one (especially if it's a hit) the heat departs and they're there because the record company wants to make money, they want to make money and the results are NEVER EVER the same.

Dire Straits is a great example... first album (and when I used to catch them in clubs in Birmingham and Manchester) were - (censored) ASTOUNDING!.... First album was a killer. After that, the spark went out of them and it just wasn;t the same. Knopfler is an amazing guitarist solo, but the band sound just wasn;t the same.

Cream was another good example of this... overkill will never replace quality. (Of course, drugs will mess things up even faster than ennui...)

Oi! Eminem? I'd be embarassed to even include that name in with others, then.

Eminem's best work, I always though, was the Marshall Mathers LP
