I assume you mean forensic science?
Where you work in a crime lab, right?

First thing you should do is NOT get in trouble with the law.
Keep your record clean and work hard not to break the law.
If you can't be trusted, why would anyone within law enforcement want to hire you?

Second, look into your local police department and ask to speak to officers who can give you some information about forensic investigations.
Ask them if they have an mentor department where people like you can volunteer part time to help out, to watch and to learn.

You'll probably need some education in law enforcement so if and when you enter this field, you'll know what can make or break a case in court...and all forensic work starts with good police work and ends in a trial where evidence is either admitted or dismissed, based on its validity.

Finally, you need a good medical school to get your forensic science degree.
I happen to work at one medical school with a very good program.
Go to the link and learn...ask questions and set your sights high.

Good luck!

Hi Annie,

Forensics is a very wide science nowadays, it covers many disciplines including pathology, anthropology, computers, psychology and biology to name but a few.

You need to decide what you think you enjoy the most and would like to make a career out of. Many police stations and courts have open days where you can talk to experts in various fields of forensics to help you decide what you would like to do.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

You'd probably be required to complete a Criminology degree at university. Not sure what A-level subjects you would have to take, but I'd guess at Biology or Chemistry. Why don't you give your local college a ring or look at an online prospectus at a university website? Hope that helps
