President Bush cannot be forced to end the war. Congress in 2002 gave him the sole power to wage war, so once he has entered us into war, they cannot make him stop the war they gave him permission to start. This Congress needs to take back that power & put it back into their hands as is written in the Constitution. This should be a primary concern since he seems hell bent on starting a war with Iran now.

It is a political strategy to pin the blame on the democrats. The reality is that at this point whether you stop today or tomorrow, the outcome will be negative. Now, if he succeeds in making the democrats force him to stop, since the situation will be bad anyway, he can always say, Well, had we stayed a little longer, we would have been victorious, America should have listened to me instead. Get it? It his a chess game.

It will make the democrats look bad, but to do anything different will cost more lives. It will be a big issue in 08 and if they force him to bring the troops home and there is chaos's which it is already he and other repuglicans will see I told you so cut and run democrats, however he is losing support from his own party, as many repuglican congresspeople are questioning his strategy.

Because he knows Iraq is a total failure and for him to "voluntarily" end his failure would condemn the republican party to heavy loses in the next several elections.

If he gets congress to force him to end the war, he can conveniently blame his failure of a war and the further chaos that will arise when we leave on the people that forced us to get out of the war.

If I thought he was smart enough in the first place I'd think he was putting Congress in the position of not funding his surge and then saying
"See, if you had let me surge we would have won, now we must get out without honor and its all your fault.
Bush hasn't accepted the fact that his leadership failed, first he blames Clinton, now he blames congress.

Who says he wants to be "forced" to do anything? His job as President and Commander in Chief is to do what he was elected to do and to do what he thinks is right, regardless of all of the left-wing bellyaching that is going on.
