I'm unemployed but i want to do something. Currently my job search is gong nowhere...I have been unemployed for a long time. I want to start at least a volunteer job. The job is a teacher for the blind, teaching computers. It says no experience needed, just know about microsoft apps, and internet.
i'm 27 and SHY/QUIET. is it even worth it if i'm shy... especially since to the blind people hearing is important and im not that good at speaking.

ABSOLUTELY DO IT! In this world, doors of opportunity present themselves when you don't expect them - who knows what could come from this? The people you meet, the contacts you make? Not only would you be doing something that brings strength to your heart, it may be the light at the end of your tunnel! Go for it!

Hi there, Like you I am unemployed and a stay at home Mum. I was unable to find a job that suited school hours so I began volunteering as a mentor and I am currently mentoring a young blind boy.I am not the most out going person either , however working with this boy has shown me a confidence that I never knew before as we tend to take alot of things for granted in our lives and now I have a totally new perspective.Yes the blind do rely on hearing alot ,however they are no different to you and I and they feel the same think the same share the same emotions we do, their blindness doesn't make them any different to you and me.You have an amazing opportunity at your fingertips and believe me you will find it a very worthwhole experience. You will be amazed at how much you will also learn about yourself.Take the job and good luck.

What do you have to lose if you give it a try. If you can speak in a reasonalbe voice. How old are the children the old children will most likely be good at listening, (provided they are not hearing impaired as well)
From small beginning it should look better then doing nothing.
and you may even improve your speaking in public because you have to do it.
