Puhleeeze... I'm hoping this question is intentionally provocative.

I think even the Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, and New Kids On the Block would tell you that, compared to the Beatles, they are a long and winding road from icons.

The Beatles were not only one-of-a-kind, but their music was revolutionary, and influences artists even today. That defines iconic for me.

I'm enjoying The Beatles "Love" as I type. I doubt the other artists you name will, in forty years, have a new CD (or whatever) at number 22 on "The Billboard 200" album chart. (It peaked at number 4.) No offense to them, but people will likely be saying, "who?"

The CEO of EMI Music UK said it well... "[The new album] makes us respect even more, if that were possible, the creativity and brilliance of the band behind the greatest catalogue in the history of recorded music."

That's an icon.

Plus they are so, lots greater effectual than ´N Sync. i will´t say something approximately New childrens because of the fact i be attentive to little or no approximately their music. Have a intense-high quality day!!. Bye!. JULIA. =)

Definitely the Beatles!! BSB, NSYNC and NKOTB wouldn't have had a career without the Beatles. JMO

Without question the Beatles, the other groups you mention were all produced by marketing, from their creation until they fizzled out. The Beatles created themselves and only stopped recording because they were bored with it. The demand for their music never stopped.

I think BSB are more iconic. They are just fantastic. They've been around for over a decade and they are still going strong.
