Omg you people are insane. I never said I was and I am not with anybody period. I was just curious to see what people would say because some people do stick by the person no matter what.

I would consider it under certain circumstances:

1) Only offense--not a habitual criminal, just a horrible mistake in judgement
2) They were truly reticent, accepting of the punishment the law prescribed, and showing other signs of repentance

Even then, I'd have to think about it. I give myself more credit than to think I'd be dating someone who exhibited that type of behavior regularly and it just so happened they got caught.

Rape=NO
Child molestation=NO
Murder=NO. Murder is 25 years to life. I am talking Murder 1 and 2, not manslaughter, even then = NO.
Robbery=NO
Assault=NO, I will never go back to a man that assaults me ever again, been there, done that, several times.

Thing is my ex sister-in-law, married a man in prison. She is still with him apparently, and has 2 kids from him. I have a friend that did the same thing with her ex. They are separated now, because he has full blown AIDS, and was in a gang.

Oh NOW you post extra..i c. well as for me, personally I would not be with a man that is doing time. PERIOD.

Nope sorry could not do that . I would not wait on them I would get a divorce . I mean it would probably depend upon what they were in there for too. such as robbery ,rape ,murder no way in hell. I am not going to be anybody's fool . good luck .

For long term felons as you describe majority will not wait. I deal with this alot, but there are a few die-hards that will. Also on here if youre going to ask a theoritcal question,then state it as being such or these people just assume its you and be prepared for any kind of answer

That depends...if you enjoy having a PRISONER ruin your life from inside a prison, maybe they have a padded room along side of him for you...
If you truly believe he is innocent, then I suggest you talk to a clergy member, put it in GODS hands, pray every waking moment and let your spouse know you believe in them and that you will stand by them.
I have a close friend who went to prison (female) charged with conspiracy and she had to plea bargain because the attorney did not think she had a great chance of proving her innocence. I believe she had no knoweldge of the wrong doing and later, evidence was found, she was let go. I prayed a lot, but you have to know in you heart--they did not commit a crime..

No, hon, people don't stick with others "No Matter What." -----no body is that good in bed, hon...... You get about 70 good years on this planet.... only someone extremely fragile with respect to their self esteem would stay.... prison is a legitimate reason for divorce.......

Um, no, you'd have to be mentally retarded to stay with someone like that. A rapist? No, they cheated on you... Assault? No, they sound pretty immature... Robbery? No, they can't work hard and get the things they want?... Murder? Um, heck no! I'd fear I'd be next! You're crazy if you're asking yahoo! answers for your decision!

It depends on the crime, but definitely NOT if it was rape or child molesting!
(not that my man would ever do horrible things like that)

If someone had such a small amount of respect for me that they would commit a felony, I do not think I would waste my life waiting around for them.

I wouldnt because when u get with someone and he/she has been in prison and u guys get in a really bad fight he/she might get really really violent and if he's a murderer you might be next.
