They are fired and the usually the police and parents are also notified. They are also never allowed to work in that store or shop in that store and all other stores in that chain.

If you get caught stealing the company that you work for they can press theft charges on you regardless of your age.
If you have theft on your police record this might prevent you from getting other jobs in the future.
I own an employment service and we will not hire anyone who has theft on their record.

they get fired, reported and fined and have a hell of a time getting work in retail. Plus it stays on your permanent record

It just really depends on how much and what it was and how old the person is. You can definately count on being fired! Which will hurt them when going for another job.

got tangled up in this myself when i was in high school, obviously they fire you, and depending on the magnitude of the theft they will give you the option of paying it back plus interest or prosecuting you, not a good situation
