It is too big a procedure to explain here. Go to the library and get a book on sewing basics. You could also go to any fabric shop, that I'm sure, also has books of instructions for sale.

cut out your pattern make sure the edges line up and just put it under the "foot" of the machine about 1cm from the edge and slowly press the foot petal (WATCH YOUR FINGERS!) as it sews pull the cloth from the back of the machine. you might want to do this twice on each side for strength.
