I read a book (romance novel?) about thirteen years ago, and now I'm trying to find it again. It was about a girl who goes to live on the English moors. She meets a brooding stranger who walks his two mastiff dogs, Romulus and Remus, on the moors. They fall in love, blah, blah, blah, you can guess the rest. Normally, I don't have a problem locating things like this on the web, but I can't remember anything distinctive besides the dogs' names. Anybody got any ideas what this book might be or who wrote it? Thanks in advance!

Might try Barbara Michaels. She wrote 2 books that might fit your discription. 'Sons of the Wolf' and 'Greygallows' are the titles.

The only book that remotely sounds like that one is The Silver Rose by Jane Feather. Without more information regarding the heroine, etc I can't find other books.

Try asking this question of the Librarian at the Library of Congress' website at: loc.gov. I am sure they have the answer you are looking for as they are the largest library in the known world.
