I'm going to a fancy dress party tomorrow, theme- blast from the past. I'm trying to impress someone (I'm a girl) and don't neccisarily want to look stunning but want to look like I've made a cool effort! Not a massive budget either....heeeellllp! thanks

Well I am not quite sure what era exactly a 'Blast from the Past' falls into but I have noticed the late 60's, 70's and unfortunately the 80's are becoming stylish and influencing everything from day-to-day wear to formal gear..so maybe this..i think its cute:

go for the flappers look. A white dress with fringe at the bottom...asymmetrical. Or do the Marilyn Monroe white dress. Go 50s style...or one of the Grecian gowns. There's a ton of possibilities! Keep your hair and make up understated, but make sure your shoes and dress pop.
Go impress that someone. Have fun at the party.

Try a David Bowie inspired ensemble, tuxedo pants, white ruffled bouse (Open a little) and a black hat, and heeled boots - you will look sophisticated and very sexy - think damatic eyliner, teased hair. The best is 80's clothes are very cheap - and you can find loads at your local charity op-shop - you can also accesorize any way you want - but you won't look so crazy walking to the party!
