You're an '80s child if...

Snap bracelets were always getting you in trouble at school.
You played with "My Little Ponies."
Friendship bracelets were ties that couldn't be broken.
You ever read Nancy Drew, Judy Blume, The Hardy Boys, The Babysitters Club, or Sweet Valley High.
You know all the words to "Ice Ice Baby."
You wanted to be The Hulk for Halloween.
You had a crush on one of the New Kids on the Block members.
You wanted to be on Jim'll Fix It. (And never got
a response!)
You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like
before he had plastic surgery.
You wore a banana clip or one of those slap-on wrist bands at some point.
You wore multiple pairs of socks in the middle of the summer just so you could be "hip."
You had slouch socks and puff painted your own shirt at least once.
You were upset when She-ra, Princess of Power, and He-Man got cancelled.
You can remember watching Saved by the Bell for
endless hours, back when they were new episodes.
You have seen at least 10 episodes of Fraggle Rock.
The best artist in the world was Tony Hart.
You hold a special place in your heart for "Back to the Future."
You know where to go if you "wanna go where everybody knows your name."
You wanted to be a Goonie. ("Goonies never say die.")
You remember Madonna in her cone stage.
You knew "The Artist" when he was humbly called "Prince."
You even wore flourescent-neon clothing... (if you can call it clothing!)
You could breakdance, or wished you could.
2 Unlimited were *the* ultimate ravers! ("No no,
no no no no, no no no no... THERES NO LIMIT!")
You remember when ATARI, Commodore or Spectrum
were state of the art video game systems.
You remember M.C. Hammer.
You remember Gordon The Gopher, and liked him!
You can still sing the theme tune to 'Rainbow'
(Up above the streets and houses...)
You remember when it was Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh
Price and NOT Will Smith!
You own any cassettes.
You remember where Mr Spoon was heading... (We've been to button moon)
You owned a pair of L.A. Gear, Keds, or Converse
trainers.
You carried your lunch to school in a Gremlins,
ET or Thomas The Tank Engine lunchbox.
You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the ONLY
female smurf.
My Little Pony, Gummy Bears and Transformers are
familiar to you.
You ever had a Swatch Watch.
You actually spent countless hours trying to perfect the "Care Bear stare."
You had Wonder Woman or Superman undies.
Remember Key-pers or Puffalumps?
You believed that "By the power of Greyskull, you
HAD the power!"
You thought that Transformers were more than meets the eye.
You spent hours in the basement building and re-building Lego cities.
Big wheels and BMX's were the way to go.
With your pink or blue portable tape player, you sang back up to Kylie and Jason!
"Party like it's 1999" seemed SO far away!!
You wore stonewashed jeans.
Sported at least one tye dyed shirt.
Jean cutoffs, or cut sweatshirts seemed *really* cool
Scooters were in .
If you ever owned Polly Pocket or Mirco Machines.
If you ever made Ken fall in love with Barbie.

If you can identify with at least half of these, you are a child of the 80's!!

This has to be the best era for TV shows!! I especially loved the cop ones - T

he Sweeney (You're Nicked!! - just had to say it!!)
Randal and Hopkirk (Deceased)
The New Avengers
Sapphire and Steel
The Men from UNCLE
Taggart
Knight Rider
Magnum
The Rockford Files
McCloud (I liked his horse!)
Alias Smith and Jones (OK not a cop show but I used to like them)
The Enigma Files
Macguyver (loved the theme tune to that one)
The A Team
The Racing Game (does any one remember that one, based on the Dick Frances novels?)
The Professionals (OK slightly later part of the 80's but has to be my very favourite)!

Wow, your question has stirred up a lot of great memories!

I am so glad many of them have been released on DVD now so I can watch them all over again!!

Oh my gosh there are too many, I loved The Love Boat and Fantasy Island. 21 Jump Street, Growing Pains, Family Ties, Moonlighting, Heart To Heart the list could go on & on. I think what makes it better is we only had 1 TV so we all watched the same thing, now that I'm all grown up and have kids we hardly ever all watch the same thing together, we have 5 people in our family and 6 TVs!!!

Well, it was perfectly normal for a teacher to put a plaster on our skin if we hurt ourselves, we didn't have child seats in cars, we played with real toys and not virtually real toys, we were definitely more respectful towards adults than kids are these days, it was OK to eat crisps and chocolate and these horrible junk foods weren't banned in school, we were allowed to play outside until late, the list could go on. I just feel sorry for kids today who can't experience the type of childhood we had.
