Yes and no. To me, there is absolutely nothing wrong with helping the poor, especially someone who is down on their luck. Unfortunately, just like what is going on here in Iraq........they may refuse to work and only hold their hand out wanting a donation, or may not even try to help themselves at all. This would be the only reason why I wouldn't want to help anyone who is poor....not saying that I'm rich either. Moses said it in the Old Testament....because many of the men refused to work...so he said and I paraphrase this, " they don't work, neither shall they eat".

Yes. It is only proper to help others. The wealthy have a duty to help others become wealthy.
If by help you meant donate money then no. Donating money only promotes beggery.

Yes but it should never be mandated, it is up to them how they spend their wealth, but it would be better if they did some good with their money, and not just hoard it. It is about a can of beans cost the same for everybody..

No. The poor can help themselves by getting off their lazy butts and doing something.

to a very limited degree. education is the best thing that can help the poor

It isn't a law or anything nor do I think it should be, however those more fortuante should definitly help the less fortunate.

No one owes anything to anyone else! You should however have compassion in your heart and if you have the means to help you should, but they should be taught to help themselves!
