I work for a company that has been open for about 6 months and is growing exponentially. I have worked for this company for 4 months. I am the youngest person here by about a year or two. But, I am always on time, more so than any of the other employees, I get sick rarely, and when I need time off, I put in a request at least a month prior. Since I am the youngest I think I am discriminated against. When new employees come in, they listen to my conversations and selling pitches the most, I am one of top sales people, and the most consistant. Since I have worked here, I was up for a promotion but another employee got the promotion. Now, since the review they have promoted my fellow employee to manager. As they did this I was training a new employee. Frankly, I am tired of putting out this effort, and I don't feel as if I will reap the benefits. I can sell anything, should I get a new job?

p.s. I keep asking when my evaluation is, and they say later.

don't be too quick to jump...the grass isn't always greener...

set up a meeting with your superiors....if you're so amazing at selling, sell yourself to them and let them know why you deserve the promotion, raise, etc...shouldn't be tough.

I'd get another job lined up first and then give your current employer notice you are quitting. Odds are they may come back and offer you more money to stay if you are a top salesperson. They probably think that because you are young that you can be overlooked and you won't notice or care (because you're "naive"). This will force their hand. But BE SURE to get another job waitng in the wings in case it backfires on you!

i would quit. youre young, intelligent, and seem to be a good sales person. you dont have time to put up with this nonsense and you shouldnt have to. keep the job but in the mean time look for a better opportunity.

ps. if you can sell ANYTHING you should come work for the company im at. we cant sell sh!t. :) good luck!!

Look through your documentation to find out how often reviews and evaluations are supposed to take place, don't rely on them to tell you. Bring these things up during your evaluation only. If they discount your point, seriously consider going somewhere else. If the won't follow their own rules regarding evaluations, defintely go somewhere else.
