I just politely gave my employer a three week notice, not two, three because a co worker is going on vacation. I am quitting because I do a good job and the patients I work with tell the doctor I work for how helpful I was etc. I am a receptionist for an optometrist. I asked for a raise after 10 months. I was turned down and told that they didn't give raises only occasional bonuses. Well the ad was placed in the paper for my replacment and I saw it and the pay rate is a DOLLAR more an hour than I am currently making. What would you do? Confront them or just let it go since I am leaving anyway?

I had given a three week notice. Should I not be nice and just do two?

I would let it go. What's the point of looking for an argument if you're leaving anyway? Life's too short to take on additional stress. Leave, do a great job for your next employer and move one. BTW, the same thing happened to me at a job I had a long time ago-really frosted my buns, I tell you!

it's a done deal, let it go and move on. your request and subsequent notice may be what prompted the raise in pay offered. just one of those things.
