The Battle of Xuan Loc was the last major battle of the Vietnam War. The battle lasted from April 9th till April 20th. 6,000 ARVN troops gallantly held 40,000 NVA troops for 11 days until they were overwhelmed.

After Xuan Loc fell, the NVA were opposed by only pocket resistance into Saigon, which is 20 miles away. More on this battle is found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Xuan_Loc

Probably at the Presidential Palace or whatever it was called. They tried to hold out but the NVA/Viet Cong were too powerful and eventually stormed the palace, thus "unifying and liberating the Vietnamese people"
