1- Educational (PBS, The History Channel, The Learning Channel, The Cooking Channel, The Travel Channel, etc.) Where I live, there are even 2 channels which televise the Community College's courses.
2- History of TV (TV Land, Nick, etc)--
3- History of Movies (Turner Classic Movies/American Movie Classics
4- A wide variety of news channels--some 24/7
4- Entertainment (movies, sit-coms, cartoons, music, etc)

Well it can be both good for you and bad for you just depending on how much you watch the tv.For instance education makes you smarter,while soaps just are silly stories made up and don't help you just entertain you not of any educational value.The channels that
educated you are:TLC,The History Channel,DIY for home improvement and more,PBS,Nick Jr. for Kids Education and possibly more.You just have to search on your tv,plus if you want to find useful stuff on tv your best guess is to search and find what yo uare looking for because there is usually a place on the search to type in the name or search by letter's till you find exactly what you want or go to the certain one's that interest you,yet is tv useful depending on what you want.If you want useful stuff to find about History go to the History Channel if it's baout your home improvement deals go to DIY or if it's about education in general go to Channel PBS which stands for Public Broadcast Service.Any thing else like music go to Music Choice and there's a variety of stuff in music tastes just depending on what you like and no matter what you like you'll probably find what suites you on there.Although all around,yet it is pretty useful,yet tv channels could have more channels that help us find what we want and more language channels to help us learn more languages and more and stuff that we can learn from class and if so no one would ever need school not anybody.

TV is good because in some situations its like a book on tape(like smallprint in newspapers).. if you dont have good eyesight you cant read it but you can hear it and see it on TV

well people can find out if bad weather is coming, like a tornado, and take shelter. or hurricane. they can be more prepared than in times when such information could not be distributed.
