Insertion pain could be caused by not angling the applicator in the right direction. Most newbies point it upward, but when sitting on the toilet you should angle toward your tailbone, as your vagina is actually horizontal when sitting.
Try a different insertion position (squat, lay down on the bed, raise one leg on the toilet seat). With enough patience and practice, you'll get it.
Also, switch to a brand that has plastic applicators, such as Kotex Security or Playtex Pearl.

As for removal, pull down gently, and don't change too often (you can wear a tampon safely for up to 8 hours without risk of TSS, as long as your flow isn't too light...its a delicate balance!), and don't use an absorbency greater than what you need. The tampon probably isn't moist enough, so when you go to remove it, it's sticking to the inner wall of your vagina and pulling the skin when you pull it out.
Again, assume the same position you used when inserting once you've found one that's comfortable. If you give it a gentle pull and it feels stuck, insert a finger and try to dislodge it before pulling it out. Try bearing down like you're having a bowel movement as well...sometimes this helps.

With both insertion and removal, try to relax. Take deep breaths, and when inserting exhale before pressing the plunger on the applicator. Sounds odd, but it does help.

Good luck.

It sounds like you are not inserting it properly. You need to look at the diagram that comes with the tampons. You need to angle it a bit as you insert it so it is going toward the back of your vagina and not straight up. Practice inserting them till you get the hang of it. There is nothing wrong with your body you just need to work on your insertion technique. Once you get the hang of it you will wonder what all the fuss was all about.

I agree that you may not be inserting the tampon far enough into the vagina and that you should stick to plastic applicators which glide better. If size is a factor, use Juniors. It wouldn't hurt to report this to your OB/Gyn.

And to "essexvsar": Try going through childbirth and the pain of your kicked balls will pale by comparison.

I have a similar problem and primarily have to use junior size and with a plastic applicator...I can use regular sizes when my "flow" is heavy. And on my lighter days I cannot use one at all.

Try switching to a pearl applicator or at least a plastic applicator and get the smallest ones available. You should also only use them when you are on your heaviest days. If it is uncomfortable once inserted, you have not placed it high enough, past the vaginal muscle...read the instructions that are in the box.

Good luck.

Is he an extremely super guy (i.e. super palms)? a dash discomfort on the beginning up is regularly occurring, yet a super form of discomfort isn't - and could point out you have an infection or different medical subject. If it incredibly is in basic terms a dash "ouchy," possibly follow the instruction manual stuff for now, and it could gently loosen issues up for actual intercourse. additionally loosen up!! Being annoying could make issues worse, and for some women persons it could make intercourse painful.

If you has TSS, you'd be having more problems than pain.

Make sure it is in right. It should be way up there, beyond your pubic bone.

Make sure the applicator is not in. Don't laugh, it happens.

Try a little lube.

Try a different brand. I like Kotex security.

How old are you? If you are younger, then you may need to switch to a smaller size...they make them for teens / adolescents. However, ultimately something like this should be brought up with your gynecologist...just to make sure there is nothing out of the ordinary going on.
