Personally, I believe that he is a tyrant, a thief, and a disgrace to Egypt and mankind in general. As for the NDP. They too are a group of theives and they are using power to steal more and more.I just thought that maybe someone has a different point of view. I would love to hear other opinions.

Donia,
I respect your point of view. You are saying that he is doing what he can and that's the best that can be done. But please , I am going to tell you something and I want you to think about it : If he can't do anything better, why doesn't he step aside and let someone else do something ? Please think about it Donia. I really respect ur brain, but it is not like we're forcing him to stay. If he can't do any better , then he should go. And about the part "we're watching and we're not doing anything posistive" . The people can't so anything if the system is holding them back, if the system is not going to embrace them and support them. If you have a family that lives on the street, you can't ask the children to cooperate and support the family, u ask the father to save his children.

Kalooka,
I hear you in all what you said. As for the thief part, let's think about it. His children are the richest in Egypt, Alaa Mubarak is in control of huge business now in Egypt. Did he do that without using his father's name ? I read things in Al-doustor and I like them. It's not like everything they write is true, but sometimes they make sense. They raise issues like : How come nobody has any idea how much the salary of the president is ?How come he travelles here and there and never states his expenses ? How come we don't know the amount of money he has in the banks ?. Maybe he is not a thief in the simple definition of the word, but he has been there so long that he started acting as if public money and his own money are two inseparable things. It's true what they say that absloute power corrupts absloutely and in my defintion, taking from the public money to spend on ur personal things without explaining that to the people is also theft

RedWine,
Yup he is better than the others. Yes I think that Nasser ruined the economy by chasing away the foreign investors and nationalizing even the money of the natives. We all know what he did to the "Arab Contractors" and Othman Ahmed Othman. They were number 1 in the Arab world and they used to do projects in the Gulf Area, now we have people from Emirates build projects in Egypt. Nasser also has many vices like dragging Egypt to Yemen war that led to depleting all our financial resources and weakening our army, which led to the envitable loss of 1967.
Sadat too had his vices, and I disagree with u abt the Brotherhood part. He played softly with them at the beginning then at the last years of his reign he threw them all in jail. That led to his assassination by members who belong to the Brotherhood.
And yes, Mubarak maybe better than them, but is this a good reason for us to have him to stay. It's like accepting him cuz he is the best of the worst, When there r better people

dryest flame,
I heard your principle back when the presidential elections were taking place. That "He stole enough but others are still waiting to steal more". With all due respect, this is like the saddest argument ever. It's like you believe that all Egyptian people are thieves and that all they care about is stealing more money. I would take that from an enemy, not from a citizen. And please don't think you are being realistic, you are being pessimistic. I have only one excuse for you, that these r not ur own ideas, that's the common trend among a large number of people. If this is true, then Egypt is cursed and we might as well go work for the Israeli Army.

Mubarak annoys me. He has been president for the last 25 years! And guess what, when he has done his buisness...His son is going to take over! I mean C'mon can't he give someone else a chance? If he did Egypt could become such a better place! As Egypt is my home country I really would do anything to make it a better place not just for Egyptians but for Everyone! If Mubarak doesn't let anyone else take over, Egypt may start becoming worse. Egypt should follow the system like in America you can only be elected twice and then your thrown out of office. This way it gives other people a chance to make a difference to the country.

A tyrant and a dictator and stubborn like a jackass.
A thief? i don't know..it's hard to believe.
NDP is rotten to the core.
i don't believe all the NDP or all the Egyptian officials are corrupt, i m sure there is some good people trying.
But they all have one thing in common; they can't tell Mubarak that the solution lies in his laps or he should done this or that. They all chickens, that's for sure.
Others are like Hyenas.
I am really sick of his regime to the extent that i ll accept (If my opinion matters) anyone but him, anything.
I can't see a future when he's around.
we all are kinda waiting for the new regime to determine what will be our future looks like.
It's a sad sad story.

Youssef:
That's called misuse of power. and it is like you said in its primary concept; "theft". I agree with you.
