It was my first baby and I was a little looney tunes, but I had the whole thing ready to go by 5 months pregnant. I was so glad I did, though, because then I had time to just focus on being healthy, enjoying my pregnancy, not trying to stumble around painting as a large clumsy prego.

With my first - I made sure everything was 100% done before he was born. Mistake. This time. I started about two weeks before my daughter was born. She's two months old and I'm still working on it. I made sure the furniture was set up and the walls were painted before her arrival, but that was it. We came home from the hospital with so many gifts, we didn't even have room for them. It's fun adding new things to her room constantly, especially since all of them now have memories. Once you start to learn your baby's personality - it will help also. And my biggest reason for waiting - she's never in her room! I might change her diaper in there once in awhile, but she still sleeps in my room and is always wherever we are.

About 2 months before my due date. That way if the baby came early, I would have some stuff ready. Also, I was able to put all the stuff from the baby shower right into the room.
hope this helps!

I did it in my second trimester right after Christmas. I had more energy than in the first trimester, plus I was sick constantly in the 1st. I also knew if we didn't get it done then, I wouldnt have time as I have a very active 4 year old boy already. Now that I just started my 3rd trimester, I am getting very tired and weak and just plain miserable again. Glad I got that out of the way. But its so worth it. 2nd son due April 16th.

I set up about 3 or 4 months pregnant, because I'm a very eager. But it usually gets completely finished about a month before I go into labor.

I was going to ask this too! I am 3 months and finally getting my energy back, I think I will decorate my baby's room when I am 5-7 months along before I hit my 3rd trimester and lose all my energy.... :)

I started getting everything at the beggining, but now I am 33 weeks, and we are getting it all set up. We just have to get dresser put together and finish painting. We started last weekend. I wanted it done long ago, but Im not the one doing it so I cant decide when it gets done.

I started at about 4 mos along. (Painted blue with clouds.)
It took months before I had all that I needed though.

I never knew babies needed so much stuff until I walked into Babies R Us for the first time. I was COMPLETELY overwhelmed. It was fun shopping though!

Good luck with the little one! :)
