140,000 years is nothing when compared with the age of the earth.

The CO2 levels were high long before there were gasoline powered engines. We know melting ice (ice has CO2) and melting artic permafrost both release large amounts of CO2. Is there a better reason?

Also, recently CO2 levels were INCREASING even when it was getting COLDER.

The temperature has only spiked since around 1980.

SSHHH!

Remember, the liberals don't like using facts when it comes to global warming! Well, I guess that's wrong. They use facts, they just don't use logic. For example:

Fact: The earth is warmer now than 50 years ago.
Fact: we are emitting more carbon dioxide now than 50 years ago.

To a Liberal, that means the carbon dioxide caused the increased temperature, even though many educated people disagree with that.

Think about it. After all this globe has been through, do you REALLY think we could destroy it by driving cars around?

Because before written history recorded things, the Earth was covered and over populated with blind REPUBLICANS. They were so full of sh*t that they began a build-up of methane and CO2 in the atmosphere. This accounted for the sudden rise in the CO2 levels.

Fortunately, the Earth was struck with a giant asteroid that wiped the REPUBLICANS off the face of our planet. When man began to evolve again some of the humans eyes could see and were open. These people became what is known as DEMOCRATS.

Of course there are many blind REPUBLICANS still walking around today. They are just throwbacks to the past and like to be known as "conservatives", but in fact they are all just dinosaurs.

Actually, current CO2 levels are higher now than at any time during the past 650,000 years. The evidence for this comes from drilling ice cores in Antarctica. The CO2 is present in gas bubbles trapped in the ice and show what the atmosphere was like at a given time period. The scientists showed that CO2 levels are now 30% higher than at any time in the last 650,000 years, and methane (another greenhouse gas) 150% higher.

The original scientific papers were published in the journal Science. Please check out the link for more information:

140,000 years ago, CO2 peaked at less than 300 ppm. Currently CO2 is at 380 ppm and still rising with no end in sight. CO2 has not been this high in about 23 million years.

Most of the plants and animals that you and I eat did not evolve in the kind of climate that is on its way, and many of them may not survive. But hey, who cares about worldwide famine as long as Republicans can blame it on Democrats?

i am by no means a CO2 expert, nor am i an expert at chemistry. but i don't beleive that ice has any CO2 in it, considering it is simply frozen H2O. nor do i believe that melting ice releases CO2.

140,000 years ago?

Try 1940-1970.

This was when CO2 levels were higher than they are today, but those 30 years were colder.

Any idiot knows they were, that isn't the question. The question is whether the present extremely quick rise in temperatures is caused by mans activity. I think it has, you disagree. Fine. Just keep paying attention and see, instead of waving your hands and denying it.

I would bet there are few "Global Warming Experts" wasting their time on Yahoo!Answers.

"140,000 years is nothing when compared with the age of the earth" - true but what is your point?

Your argument is so poorly worded it physically hurts me to read it.

Read it and weep - http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070131/ap_on_sc/france_climate_change;_ylt=AqY2iNHFqF_t2up3QVqy3okPLBIF;_ylu=X3oDMTA2Z2szazkxBHNlYwN0bQ--

Well I had vegetable soup last night is my usual excuse.
what ever excuse you want is fine with me, there's no way we can stop emissions that causes this warming, even if all emissions were stopped by the U.S. then the developing country's would just keep on with pollutions, its a done deal, sorry, make excuses, what ever. it doesn't matter one little bit,

It was caused by gas powered Pterodactyls, or perhaps the smurfs use of magic.

I agree this whole thing is much ado about nothing.
