I am a pre-op transsexual currently going through hormone treatments. Considering my age and genetic makeup, I will probably not develop much more than an A cup breast size. I want so much to fill out a bra with at least a B or C cup, but also want to avoid any health issues. After all, what I intend to go through can be considered pretty drastic surgery in and of itself. I am not so much looking for answers as I am looking for advice. Thanks.

Good luck with your surgery, and POO on those who cannot give you constructive advice!

As far as breast size, talk to your doctor about what would look good on you. If you go too big it will look awkward. Without knowing your height/weight, my opinion would be to go for a full b cup.

I saw a show (Dr. 90210 I think) where a man had breast implants. I'm not sure if he was a pre-op or post-op transsexual. The doctor did have some concern because on a man with no breast tissue, there is only so big the implants can be because the skin has to stretch more. I think the patient got a full B/small C and they looked good whent they were done. The patient looked much like a woman (his face still looked a little masculine). My advice is that if you are going through the hormone treatments and are actually going to have a sex change, then go ahead and get the implants.

My ex-flatmates brother went through the same dilemma. He also thought that he would not fill out from the hormones but developed into a healthy B cup and wears a padded bra to accentuate the curves. He looks great now. The planned surgery will be a massive trauma to your body as it is so I would advise you to stick with the hormones and a Wonderbra until you see how you feel afterwards. If you have the money then the option will always be open but I would never recommend breast implants to anyone, the risk is so high with so many things that can go wrong that it just doesn't seem worth it. Good luck with everything =)

Assuming you have passed all psychological tests prior to having your full surgery, Breast implants for a B or C cup can be made quite simply and beautifully done in your situation. There are surgeons who specialise in these cases.Be aware do research find someone good. They can go in from around the nipple, under the armpit, or from under the breast itself which leaves a larger scar. They can be put under the muscle or if there is enough skin/fat tissue just into the breast cavity. Gel soft rounded low profile look good. Can be removed if you don't like them without too much trauma. Good luck.

Firstly, pooh on the queer bashers posting here.

If you are planning on having the surgical full Monty, I shouldn't think breast implants would faze you.

May I suggest you consider a past life regression session or two before you do the deed?

You will find that all of us live lives as both male and female. You've probably been female in all your previous lives, and now your male body feels like it doesn't fit.

I'm concerned that if you go all the way, you'll just have to be a male again in some future incarnation. Better to get it over with now, so to speak.

It's definately worth checking out. I've never had plastic surgery, but I have researched it and seen many positive results. If you've gone so far as to have hormone treatments, then I say go all the way. Don't let people who call you "queer" let you change your mind. You are who you are and no one understands how you feel but you.

That is up to you. Depends on how big you want your breasts to be. This maybe something you need to discuss with your therapist. (I know you have to be seeing one. It is required for transsexuals before they can have gender-reassignment surgery.)

Implants are very safe. You don't have to worry about leaks making you sick. Even the silicone implants have come back in a semi-solid form that will not leak if punctured.

No. Local complications that can occur with breast implants include post-operative bleeding (hematoma), fluid collections (seroma), surgical site infection, breast pain, alterations in nipple sensation, interference with breast feeding, visible wrinkling, asymmetric appearance, wound dehiscence (with potential implant exposure), thinning of the breast tissue, and synmastia (disruption of the natural plane between breasts). These complications are for women mostly but you get the idea.

You should not be seeking surgical advice from strangers. Speak to a constructive/cosmetic surgeon and get the best advice. Weigh the risks and benefits then decide for yourself.
