I actually started getting into makeup the sophomore year of high school. Personally ... I don't think you even need it until you've graduated from college, although the occasional natural or enhancing makeup is fine for "dress-up day". If you start wearing makeup at a young age, you might be side tracked from what's really important (education) and no one wants that. It is a phase that a lot of people go through ... But sooner or later you and your little sister will realize makeup isn't really that much of a big deal. In our society now-a-days ... It's hard to spot a girl on the street w/o any makeup.

Spritz the face with cool water-allow to air dry-apply an oil free under makeup ok moisturizer. Apply a dot of foundation to a make up sponge and start at the bridge of your nose down towards your face and neck line. Pat in a downwards motion, never rub. Always go downward, because the hair on your face goes down. Blend thoroughly and then lightly apply a face powder to lock in your foundation. You may also use a concealer, under the eyes or in troubled spots before applying the foundation or right after. I prefer before. Good luck!

I use a blush brush....big, but not too huge. It helps smooth and blend it evenly. Oh..wait, if it's for theatre. Use a sponge, and go heavy. The lights in a theatre wash out a persons face really bad. So put heavy foundation to give a smooth appearance. Use a darker foundation in key places for shadow (i.e. along the chin line, sides of nose)....use a heavier than normal blush but not "clown"-like. Depends on the character. If they say street makeup....do it in normal colors just heavier because if it's too light it will still be washed out.

I'm not totally sure all the secrets to foundation, I really specialize in eye makeup. Here is what I know. For a more subtle look, sweep a matte beige shadow over your lid from your lash line to your brow bone. Use a soft brown or taupe from the lash line to the crease. Use a dark brown mascara but always avoid the gunky look, use only one coat (when in doubt use less and never apply mascara to your bottom lashes). Use a warm, earthy blush for your cheeks and blend out to your hairline. Use a tinted gloss for your lips, and then apply lip liner. Blend to get rid of any edges. For a more glamorous, out-there kind of look (probably better for a school play, but it really depends on your part) use a cream or beige shadow from your lash line to your brow bone. Use a shimmery gold or pink from your lash line to your crease and a dark color, like bronze or plum in your crease. Use a black mascara and charcoal-colored eyeliner (apple just above your lash line on your upper lids) Use a warm peachy color blush. For your lips, use a darker gloss on the bottom and a lighter shade in the center of the lower lip. Use a berry toned lip liner and a lip brush to blend. I tend to find that I skip the lip liner, since I think it looks like you overdid it, but it's up to you. I usually also skip the eyeliner for the same reason, but as I said, it's still up to you.

Apply moisturizing cream first, and after a while (1-2 minutes) apply with fingertips (clean hands) small dots of foundation on your forehead ( 2 dots, left and right, above each eyebrow arch), one small dot at every cheek, one small dot at your nose and one at chin, two dots at your neck (left and right, below the jaw line). Gently spread dots all over the face and neck evenly with circular fingertips movements, check up results in mirror, make some final corrections if necessary, let it dry for few seconds, then apply blush.

hey! to apply:

1. Foundation- dot foundation on the forehead, chin, cheeks, and nose if you feel it needs coverage. blend with fingers if you'd like. for greater blending and a greater final product blend with a makeup sponge. from the stage you want the skin to look clear and smooth. this'll make it.

2. Mascara- use black. tilt the head back and begin brushing through the lashes from root to tip in a side to side to thicken them. use a clear moisturizing conditioning mascara to make it go on smoother before your colored mascara. let dry fully.

3. Liner- to see the eyes from the audience use black or dark blue or dark violet eyeliner. liquid is best. it glides on easier. apply from inner eye to the outer edge or a little beyond to add drama. let dry fully.

4. Shadow- you can add shadow if you want. make sure if you use more than one color to blend well. i suggest a shadow brush to blend. you mat want shimmer. dont forget to get the shadow all the way to your eyebrow bone. dont make the color stop suddenly at the outer part of the eye. it'll look funny make it get lighter til its finally your skin color. the eyeshadow isnt necessary with the mascara and eyeliner but if you think it'll be good to include go for it.

5. Lips- for stage makeup use a lipstick that could be seen from the audience nothin like a powdery pink or anything icy or frosty you wont see from the audience. reds, purples, mauves, corals, browns would all look good then add a clear gloss over them to really make them look good. remember this is just stage makeup.

6.Powder- you dont want people to be shiny on stage so use a compact powder. loose powder would be too sheer and could get sweated off and look shiny in just a few minutes.

i hope i helped good luck!

The best way to apply make up liquid foundation is to use a makeup sponge.

foundation isnt hard to apply at all. I recomend getting foundation with "sheer coverage" on it. this means that it wont look so thick and caked on. [make sure not to get it in your eye brows or lips] first, wash your face, pat dry, and apply. during the day, try not to rub your face or touch it much bc it will come off on your hands and possibly get smudged. dont splerge for the expensive stuff either. in my opinion, cheep works just fine.
p.s wear lots of mascara, it will make your eyes look wide and they'll pop.
peachy colored lip gloss is pretty too.
hope i helped!
