My husband is stuck on the name Chad - but the two names are so choppy together that I wanted to find a good middle name to make it all flow.

Since both the first and last names are single syllables, you want to pick a middle name that has two or more syllables.

I think Chad Michael Knox has a nice ring to it,test it out,say it out loud in all sorts of different ways especially the scolding parent voice xD and if you like the sound of it then you have your name.
My other choice would be Chad Tyson Knox.
