I am definately against abortion but what are your views on it?
I've noticed that all the people who argue FOR abortion have already been born.

While I believe that abortion should be a personal choice and should be an option open to pregnant women, I don't believe that it is the most ethical choice.

There are so many women in so many different situations, and I think to categorize them in a category of "right" or "wrong" is a tough thing to do. There are women/teens who have been raped, are victims of incest, or who have their own medical problems that might make it impossible to have a baby. I truly believe that abortion is a personal decision and that one needs to walk a mile in those shoes to decide what they would do. It's easy to point a finger from the outside looking in, but when the tides are turned and you're in the situation looking out....things often look different.

I don't think it's appropriate to use as a form of birth control - people make mistakes, but 5, 6, 7 abortions doesn't seem acceptable to me. From the women I know who have had them - almost all of them regret it. I think outlawing abortion would cause scared women to seek alternative measures, and I would prefer to see a medical professional handle them.

I had an abortion when I was 16- I was VERY pressured by family and friends-and I did it. I am now married and have 2 beautiful children BUT I still think about that baby. That was almost 10 years ago. I regret it and I should have been strong and stood up for what I wanted and believed. My only advice to you is to make sure that it is YOUR decision and nobody elses. If you choose to have an abortion that is YOUR choice...just make sure that you are sure.

There is no question of abortion only the question of money. No mother I don't care if it is rape or incest or her own life is in danger, no mother would willingly kill her own baby because she thinks its ok. All mothers and couples in fact naturally love their babies. The reason abortion exists is not about a woman's right to choose because all women believe it or not actually DO care about their babies! The REAL problem here is money. A woman loves her baby, but can become terribly frightened and nervous when faced with uncertainty for the babies health care and food costs, daycare, how to afford a better paying job or get a raise, education costs, etc. etc. People need to realize that abortion rates would instantly drop to ZERO if people worked together to form a fund which would issue 100% coverage for all mothers babies to ensure they had fully paid access to health care, food and clothing for the baby, daycare as needed, and education funds set aside to cover any college the baby wants to attend. Abortion exists because there is a wealth gap, exorbitant rent and mortgage rates, the health care system being broken and does not care about babies (and not much about low income couples or single mothers either!), education costs undergo ridiculous rates of inflation far outpacing the cost of living, and other FINANCIAL reasons. As far as religious wackos who like to say Jesus hates abortion, I challenge all those nuts to make a resolution: Instead of going to church on Sundays, go to WORK! Work eight hours of overtime. Donate all of that money to a local charity who supports single and low-income mothers. I GUARANTEE that the abortion rate drops a lot more that if they go to their churches and burn a bunch of effigies of abortion doctors and spew hatred! From what I understand, if Jesus were real, he would come down to a single mother and tell her that her baby is such a miracle that he would be her live-in day-care worker for FREE for the babies whole life! That is what caring for children is all about. When the day comes when every person is willing to truly care about the needs of children, abortion will disappear.

I believe if you don't want to get pregnant or as a man get a woman pregnant for those deadbeat dads that won't take the responisblility you should do something about it before abortion becomes an issue. It should only be a decision in the case of rape or health issues.

i don't agree with abortion, i think prevention is better than cure. i have made it clear to my boyfriend from day 1 that if i fall pregnant i would not have an abortion no matter what situation i am in.

the best gift in the world is a baby. especially with how many problems there are now a days. its just not worth it, iv heard that some people who have had abortions have problems conceiving later on in life.

odds are stacking against women everyday and just recently heard that 1 in 7 couples have trouble conceiving.

men about the age of 40 are 5 times more likely to farther a child with autism than a man aged 32 or less.

dont take my word for this but I'm sure that's what i have heard and many more things.

thanks for reading.xx

This is not the political forum of Yahoo Answers. That is right above this forum. The only abortion related questions that belong on this boad are those which seek information or advice for a particular pregnancy. Those about its moral or legal nature belong elsewhere.

If we will start adopting more, donating for homes for pregnant teens, abused women's shelters, or even taking in runaways they desire for abortion would be less. People abort when they feel there are no other options. Telling them it's wrong won't present an alternative.

I do not believe that abortion is right. I think it is the same as murdering some one. It's so sad to see a little baby and to think that some one would want to kill it. If they don't want them why don't they put them up for adoptions. We did it many years ago cause the Mother didn't want her child and neither did the father. They were both in the mid teen at the time.

Well if they weren't born it would be hard to argue, wouldn't it? I am against abortion but for a person's choice of what they want to do with their own body based on their own situation. It's none of my business what someone else does.
