I was out at the mall today, pushing my 5 month in the stroller, when a lady come up and started talking to her, then pulled her soother out of her mouth. I was shocked, couldn't believe it, my daugther started crying. I looked at the lady and gave her a dirty look and told her that was very rude of her to do that, and not to just assume she can touch peoples babies. I mean there are so many germs, and who knows what she touched last with her hand, and shes touching my daughters soother, something that goes in her mouth. I was so mad, I started to walk away, and she said "I have never met anyone so rude before", I just kept walking, but wasn't I in the right to tell her not to touch my daugther?

yes-- that is just so strange. it is one thing to be talking & cooing her but another to pull something out of her mouth. strangers never have the right to do such a thing.

who in their right mind would pull a soother/binky out of a content baby's mouth anyhow?

YES you were very right. You need to protect your baby from strangers and germs. That is your job! I would never touch someone elses baby without asking - and if your daughter was happy with her soother, why on earth would that woman take it away????

Some people actually think they have the right to do stuff like that. What bothers me also is people who allow their children to come up to your baby and touch them and get in their face. Don't stress about the situation, you were being a good mom. Some people just don't get it.

I would have been soooo mad! No one has the right to touch someone elses child without the parents permission!!! How rude.

.That lady had no business touching your daughter. She needs to go back to etiquette school.
