Also they seem to have the same answers, even down to the same page layout. Are they the same company?

No, they are not related. Besides those you can go to ask.com and type in your question, to get more factual answers than the ones on yahoo answers and questions. Also there is one called about.com. I like it too. I would not put too much stock in this site. Some people do give good answers and information and links, but a lot is just opinions on here.

The library is always a good free alternative. Online, I've always found about.com to be a pretty good resource. Depending on what you are looking up, government Web sites can be helpful as well (i.e. Medline for medicine...part of nih.gov).

well, if u live in New Jersey, your could use QandANJ.com, but u need a library card to get in the site. I dont know if they have sites like this for any other state, but this site is pretty good. You get live people to help u.
BTw. I dont know if those two sites have the same company, but myabye they do if they are so similar
