Enjoy a great view while you travel along the world-famous Las Vegas Strip on one of the new double decker buses servicing Las Vegas Boulevard. The 40-foot-long buses seat 53 on the upper deck and 27 on the lower, with two positions for wheelchairs. A Deuce day pass is $5 and a one-way ride is $2. Deuce buses are also part of Citizens Area Transit and information can be obtained via the same numbers for the CAT bus service

Take the deuce, it's the double decker bus that runs up and down the strip and into downtown
By the way, if you aren't going to go anywhere outside of the city, there is absolutely no reason to rent a car. It will take you so long to get up and down the strip that you would have been better off with the deuce or walking. We made the mistake of renting a car the first time we went out to vegas, and will never do it again.

Rent a car in Vegas. It is super cheap - parking is easy and always free with validation and you can go wherever you want without waiting around for a bus or tram. We always, always get a car in Vegas. Take Sahara Blvd thats run parallel with the strip to get from one end of the strip to the other. The back way is always faster - traffic on the strip can be slow, but the back way, you zip right through.

There's a cheap bus line on the Strip. It's better than a cab.

use public transportation. see website below. The last time I was in Vegas (2 years ago), I think it was like $2.00 one way. I would suggest looking into that.
I wouldn't rent a car cause traffic is really bad along the strip.
Or you could always take a cab but with cabs they might charge if you are sitting in traffic.

When we went we took the bus. It doesn't cost very much and they are available when you will be leaving. Especially when you go downtown if you drink you won't have to worry about walking or driving back:-) Make sure you see the light show there--it is fantastic, hope you have a wonderful time!

The Duece bus system is the cheapest, but if you stay late on Freemont Street you will take a cab for about $15

Take a taxi or the public buss if you don't have a rental car. Parking on Freemont Street is free in a big parking garage there but you just have to have your ticket validated in one of the casinos.
