Unfortunately you can not make him stay if it is in his heart to attend this other school. I think it is perfectly normal for you to want your man to stay and not leave you, but realistically do you want to be the reason he decides not to go out of state for school. Are you planning to get married soon? Are you caught up in an unplanned pregnancy? If not, I think it is best that you communicate to him that you would prefer that he not go, but you support whatever he decides. If you hold him back from following his dreams, it could backfire and destroy the relationship.

Don't always think about yourself. His feelings are involved in this to. Ask him what he wants. If he wants to go to an out of state college then allow him. He would have more opprotunities and you could go see him as much as you could. I know you don't want him to go, but I know how you feel. I was 13 when I met my husband and he lived three hours away. I am now married to him. Relationships of all kinds are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely, the sand remains where it is. Held tightly, the sand trickles through your fingertips. A relationship is like that. Held loosley, with respect and freedom for the other person, a relationship will remain intact. But the minute you close your hand to hold on tightly, too possessively, the relationship slips away and is lost. If you want to keep him forever, then sit down with him and discuss your feelings together. Communication is everything. If he goes away, are you scared that he will find someone else or leave you because of the distance? A relationship is about taking risks and allowing it to make your relationship strong. Just sit down and talk to him. Good luck!

You need to think about what is best for HIM, not what is best for you. It's always hard to let go, but if you are truly as madly in love as you say, your relationship will survive and after college the two of you will make a life together.

Let him make the decision and go along with his choice. Don't pressure him into anything. Telling him you will miss him is fine but don't make the decision for him or try to make him feel guilty.

Do yourself a favor and be honest with him about your feelings. Remember, you're laying the foundation for your future.

Tell him what you just said. Your not being selfish, your being honest. He did ask you what you thought afterall.

Why don't you go with him?
