I have hammer toes and flat feet, and worked in retail for years - the key is to find 2 or 3 pairs of comfy shoes, and rotate them - don't wear the same pair more than 2 days in a row. When trying on shoes, they have to be perfectly comfortable right from the start - no "breaking in" period allowed. If they pinch or rub, I don't buy them. Buy only leather shoes, they will stretch and mold to your feet - "man-made materials" never will. I don't do heels, and I like the Aerosoles or that kind of brand - they cushion your feet even if your work floor is concrete or wood. Good luck, I feel your pain!

I work in the hospital and I work 12 hour shifts 5 days a week. I wear (along with a lot of other nurses) New Balance 600. They support your feet really well.
I noticed that someone else had said to rotate your shoes out.........it is good to have 2 or 3 pair and wear them off and on through the week....don't wear the same shoe all the time.

I can't give an actual brand, but they are like sneekers that nurses wear. They are soft on the sole of the foot, and are made for people that stand a lot.
