New to this buggar...but i've got a bit of a question.
I've been wonderin for some time now do you suppose uncertainties are placed upon a persons perception of ones self, by others perception of that person or by ones perception of others?

both; because perception of self is often different of another persons as well as perception of the surroundings differ from one person to the next.

Uncertainty is a person's perception of ones self. Have you ever met anyone who is career military? They know tomorrow they will have a job, a place to live, free health care, and a paycheck twice a month. Whereas, people in the private sector have to focus on office politics, the overall health of the economy, and the soundness of their company. The former is true uncertainty.

self image is very important.

when a person is not sure of what they think about the issues of their self image it comes from both sides that you described & from mass media sources (including literature).

As time progresses and a person takes in new ideas they apply it to what they already know and adapt accordingly.

to avoid trouble honesty is needed. If others are not being honest with the information they communicate, it hurts self image.

so far I've learned to not be critical, be forgiving and to listen. In that way I hope to resolve the uncertainties about my perceptions of myself.

of course..... it could just be a brain fart on my part

I think you may need to rephrase this. I'm not sure what you're saying.
