i think pretty much any cheerleading is a sport because sport is defined as a physical activity and cheerleading definately is just that... my team... a sideline team may not practice as much as our competitive team but we do practice a lot. we do up to 150 push-ups a day and we may even do more than 200 crunches a day and we run around the school which is about 2 miles. and we do more than that... we do a lot of the same things as the competitve team does, we do the same stunts, jumps, and some of the same routines... SO DON'T YOU DARE SAY CHEERLEADING IS NOT A SPORT!!! because i know from experience that cheerleading is in fact a sport.. I wrote a paper on it this last week and said, "I am a freshman on the Varsity Sideline cheer team and it is a heck of a lot of work"
