Despite what one person says, Honda is a very good auto. However I would look into a Toyota 4 Runner with the V-6. I got my 3rd one a couple of months ago. I had a 1986, a 1996 and now a 2006. They have never given me a problem and have great resale value. I am getting 20 mpg avg and 27 hwy with it. I got it at the end of the year as a leftover and had a very good deal. Better than the Highlander as its on a full chassis. Check them out at Consumer Reports. Ranked very high.

imo, the trailblazers are really nice 4x4, they have the inline 6 cyclinder that has 275hp and will last forever since its not a v6, the pistons are straight up and down instead of on an angle, which means less friction, less heat, longer oil life(less oil changes 6k miles each change), long motor life like the deisel trucks. gas mileage is ok, about 15 city 18+ highway. which is about what you should expect from any 4x4 suv or truck. my mothers trailblazer is now 5 years old, is paid off, and has only needed just now a new battery (most batteries only last 5 years or less) costs $70.

I have two suggestions.
Ford Ranger 3.0 Automatic V6 4x4 extra cab. Well known for mechanical longevity (200,000+ miles)
Toyota Tacoma V6 Automatic 4x4 extra cab. Known for quality, longevity, fit and finish.
The Toyota will cost as much as 20% more than the Ford Ranger.
The Ranger will get the better gas mileage.

Good luck!
New 4x4 and Wear and Tear do not belong in the same sentence.

The type of vehicle you prefer would help with the answer (opinion). Truck, SUV, crossover? For one HONDA'S suck - overrated!. and they only make cars and SUV. I wouldn't ever recommend POS Honda, I'd drive a KIA before that! Like I said before it depends on what type of vehicle you want.
