How can a team which plays the most beautiful football in the world be a dirtiest team in the Premiership?

I must agree they were dirty a couple of years back when Patrick Viera, was still around... Will never forget the scene when a group of Arsenal players lead by Viera kicked Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Now that the gangster and over-rated french idiot is gone, they are playing beautiful football once again!

Now Arsenal get kicked by dirty teams with no talent like Blackburn.

Sour because you lost tonight or still living in the past?
As many have stated, Arsenal have lost the dirty team tag a while ago. Tonight they had two bookings, but 5 for spurs !
The only thing Wenger encourages is to play attractive passing football

Of course they are. I'm a Spurs supporter like Daisy, so what else could I possibly say? I suppose it's the same between Man.U and Man.C, Liverpool and Everton, Rangers and Celtic, Bristol C and Bristol R, Sheff.U and Sheff. W; the list could go on and on. All teams have their mad moments and the rewards for success are high which puts all players under pressure when it comes to that defensive tackle. I think Premiership managers have more sense than to encourage their players to play 'dirty', though I expect that 'gamesmanship' may be encouraged in order to hold on to a flimsy lead.

As a lifelong ManU supporter, I have to disagree with the question. Have a look at the statistics in last weeks Daily Express. It showed clearly that Arsenal are second lowest in fouls. ManU were fourth. I can't remember who was lowest but it was close. Look at the recent league game between Arsenal and manU......there was hardly a foul, and Arsenal deserved the two late 2-1 win....and I say that with gritted teeth!! They have lost their 'dirty' team tag as far as I'm concerned!! Blackburn and Bolton are the two dirtiest teams in the Premiership at the moment.
C'MON YOU REDS!!!

your comment is ridiculous, arsenal play sublime quick football which is a pleasure to watch, they rarely foul anyone if anything they are the most fouled team in the league. Id say the dirtiest team is man u, half of the time the ref is too scared to give decisions against them, especially at old trafford. I am not an arsenal fan but in my opinion they play the best football in the league, when they are on form nobody gets near them, eg man u results beat them both home and away, oh and liverpool, they were unbeaten at anfield for ages then the arsenal kids gave them a lesson in how to play, sorry scousers but you know its true.

You can not be serious man!

It was Man Utd. that were the dirtiest...Fergie instilled it in the team and it even rubbed off on Beckham...remember World Cup?

I think Jose has done a good job now, of turning the Chelsea players into dirty diving cheats...they don't need to behave like that . They might not be as dirty physically as Man Utd. were but they are top of the dirty tricks league.

Arsenal...the best football team...only interested in playing the game properly and Wenger a true gentleman.

I don't know about THE dirtiest but yes they do play dirty. I would have to say probably Bolton is the diriest but there's just something about the way that Arsenal plays that doesn't sit well with me.

I disagree 100%
I think the dirties player is Johnson at the moment. He just loves diving around the field.
Dirtest team going, well i dont really know casue they can all have there bad days really. But never Arsenal.

Are you serious? If anything, Wenger's boys play a style of footie some may find too "pretty" for the EPL. If I had to pick their shortcoming, I'd say it's always trying for the extra pass that sometimes denies them goals... but other than that, you have to be kidding; they play a sublime game and are no dirtier than any other XI... and much less so than others!

Go Gunners!!!

i am not an arsenal fan but i dont think they r dirty and i dont think arsene would condone it if they was either. They just got some quality players and people dont no how 2 deal with them so they call for foul play there are lots of other clubs out there who have far worse dirtier players
