Why did someone as good as Dimebag Darrell Abbot have to die? Why did he have to get shot? Why is it that on the anniversary of one of music's greatest tradgedies did on of the greatst guitar hero ever have to be shot...and onstage?! I've seen the tape on "Behind the Music" and I just can't solve that question.
What makes it worse is that Dimebag was just finishing up a tour...in front of thousands of fans...starting a band with Vinnie? Why did he have to die when he had SO MUCH AHEAD OF HIM?

You don't expect someone like that to die. He just seemed so immortal. And yet, he gets killed...onstage! In front of his fans? In front of his brother? It just doesn't add up. Not only that, but by someone who DIDN'T shoot because Pantera disbanded. There is, to this day, no motive.
But I just ask...why him? If it was Vinnie Paul, I don't think it'd hit everybody THIS MUCH. If Vinnie Paul had died, it'd be like Kirk Hammett being killed instead of Cliff Burton. But, it's not fair. It could've been Katz or anyone else. But not Dimebag. Not Dime. It just doesn't seem real. Let alone fair.

Then you have the aftermath. Dimebag Darrell Abbott touched people in so many ways. When you see Behind the Music, all you hear after hearing the description of his shooting, all you hear is crying. Darrell Lance Abbott should've never had been killed. Katz, Vinnie anybody. And that wouldn't have hit anybody that hard. Lennon, yeah, tragic, but it was a shot outside somewhere. But Dimebag was murdered on stage. He didn't deserve to die, let alone like this.
