They're called "leukonychia" and are very common. Most of the time the white spots simply are a sign of some past injury to the matrix (base) of your nails. By the time the white spot shows up (about six weeks after the injury) you've probably forgotten all about banging or knocking your fingers. Sometimes, the injury can stem from a manicure that put excessive pressure on the base of the nails. The spots also can be a sign of an allergic reaction to nail polish or nail hardeners and, sometimes, are a symptom of a mild infection.

The white dots come about as a result of damage to the fingernail as it grows. Basically, if you hit your finger on something it can cause a
deformity (often called an "air bubble") in the fingernail.

In my culture, those white dots have meanings. It just depends on which finger the white dots are on. If the dots are on your thumb, it means that you'll get money. If the dots are on your index finger, it means that you'll get something valuable such as gold. If the dots are on your middle finger, it means that someone is jealous of you or dislikes you. If the dots are on your ring finger, it means that someone admires you.If the dots are on your pinky, it means that you'll receive a letter.
I don't know if it really tells your fortune...

frequently those white dots are led to by skill of protein deficiency, so perhaps your physique only isn't processing the protein. It could no longer harm to consume some greater meats and nuts, and if that doesn't artwork, I advise seeing a nutritionist.

Everyone gets them. Get them from banging your finger on something. You don't have to bang it that hard to get the White spots to show up.
