Make sure your friends and family refer you
Run ads in the paper
Have a billboard
Hand out business cards
Call past clients and ask for referrals
Mass mailings
Socialize
Join local groups
Go to church where your around lots of possible clients
Make sure EVERYONE around you knows your a Realtor....And do little things to make sure they can not use the excuse that they forgot or did not know your were into Real Estate..ss

Simply picking up the phone is a very, very poor idea with the new "No Call Laws!"

Dont cold call its a bad idea with the do not cal list. I would agree with the answer above me. I would also suggest you do open houses for other Realtors. Its a great source of buyers. That's what I did when I started in this business.

pick up the phone..

p.s. especially with the calling soliciting law..it is good to call...
telling people how you got their phone number.. is a great referral..
