In Canada, the school registration forms ask if a child is First Nations as this allows them full day Kindergarten instead of only half days. The form also asks if English is their second language - as this entitles them to ESL programs in the school as well as full day Kindergarten. In these cases it is to the childs benefit. I would assume that you would have access to other programs depending on race and circumstances.

Yes, but they are not allowed to base their decision on race. On most applications, the race field is optional.

Yes inAustralia they do .I think its mainly for statistics.
